What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday 218

Welcome to this weeks world wide desks, if you wish to know more about what this is about, or indeed peek at over 100 more crafting desks see this here linky - Julia's Blog

Hello Deskers, look at my 'tidy' type desk!! I went to take this weeks photo and thought.. leave it as it is, then thought 'heavens know, that is appauling even by my standards' so I had a tidy and even cleaned some paint off.
Nothing too exciting I'm afraid, I was full of great intentions this week as the weather is cooler and I can actually get in my room now, alas for this weeks excuse though.. Hubby has a new job, we have to get up at 5.20am and I am not coping too well at that, wouldnt mind but for 9 years we got up at 6.20am so not that much of a difference really.  The travel hours are not good though, due to the train times its after 8pm when  he gets home, so not much fun really.
Anyway, here is a closer look at the journal on my desk..
I was having a 'purple' few days - just by way of a change.  As my desk is so boring this week, here is my tatty drawing board today too, I got fed up with faces so was just having a bit of fun..
To finish, to those lovely deskers last week who showed such concern for the husband and for my Mum.  Hubby is good, was diagnosed with 'stress' again - so we are trying to make things a bit easier for him (aside for the long work days of course).  Mum, results were not so good I'm afraid so many more tests to be had and medication changes and a complaint to the 'Cardiac Team' who are bordering on neglect with their lack of care, the GP is now looking after her much better.

Oh, and one more thing... I get around as many desks as I can - I think I did them all last week, but I dont comment on all of them, I dont think anybody has that much time!  My comments are just random really.  So, I dont check who has posted on my blog and who has not, its great if you visit and comment but I dont mind if you dont, and I dont check up.

Have a great week xx

  19. I shudder to think of getting up so early especially now I'm retired. You and your DH certainly have such a heavy workload so no wonder he's stressed. Your pages look really good and I love purple so much( I have to force myself NOT to use it too much.)
    Thanks for stopping by,

  20. Thanks for stopping by… how funny you also posted a dancer this week. Only in a different form. I also love the Muppets. They bring back fond memories. As one who suffers from Chronic Insomnia, I'm usually going to bed at 5am. Though I do remember when I did work, I got up at 5:30 for work. Your DH has a very long day. Also a big fat THANK YOU for becoming my latest follower. :D I hope you have a great weekend. Happy Hump Day!!! (((HUGS)))

  22. yay! for the muppets..... I'm a bit of a muppet myself, no really I am.
I think the whole point of WOYWW is that you don't need to tidy/clean/pose etc we all understand.
thanks for your comments, the art journal I won is from paperchase, in their sale, but only available in art supply branches.
good luck to your DH in his new job.

  23. Loving my first visit here Lynda,
Your desk looks great especially liking that photo ^..^
The journal pages are fantastic too.
Early starts aren't the best, but I'm more of an early bird than a late night owl.
I hope your hubby finds the right balance for his day and that your Mum receives the best of care.
Thanks for popping over to my place...have fun with WOYWW.

  27. Shame your Dh's work day is o long with the train travel, I get up about 5 a.m. to get Dh off to work but then I am a lark and it is easy to do for me, while he is an owl and would prefer to stay in bed! LOL Glad you got your GP on board with your Mum's care, its a sad fact that older people are not best looked after any more. :( Happy WOYWW Annette #5

  29. Your desk looks lovely, Lynda, and your journal is beautiful - fantastic art work! So sorry to hear about your poor hubby. It's a very long day for him, and I hope something can be done to relieve the stress somewhat. Not nice for his family either, having to spend so long out of the house every day - he must come home exhausted, with not much left in the batteries! Sorry also to hear about your mum. It's shocking how they haven't been caring for her properly - I get very cross when I hear about the elderly receiving less, as if they are being told they aren't worth anything any more. With an ageing population, that HAS to change!

Thank you for your lovely comment. My new ARTHaven is looking great, isn't it, and I'm so excited about getting into it and starting creating again! It's been so long. I am feeling lots better today, thanks - I couldn't believe how quickly the antibiotics started working. I'm afraid I'm always hearing of people sharing their antibiotics around and I always pick them up on it and let them know how dangerous it is. People can be extremely foolish sometimes.

    Happy WOYWW,

  30. I feel your early morning pain, I've been getting up at 5.30am for what seems like forever and it never gets easier. Such a shame about your husbands hours, that must be a strain for both of you. I hope your hubby can feel a bit less stressed, despite the hours and that your mum is getting better now. Love your Muppets picture.
Thanks for visiting and leaving such a nice comment.

  31. Lynda I am loving your journal pages, and seeing your muppets piece had me thinking back to my childhood. Isn't if funny how we have days where we are drawn to using one particular color. That definitely is a long day for your poor hubby. I hope he can get on top of his stress as this can have such a detrimental effect on his health but on you also and I am pleased to hear your mum is now getting better card. Your recent visits and comments on my blog are much appreciated and I hope you have a wonderful week! Danie #14

  32. Love your purple pages, especially the hat lady.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The lady on the purple page looks so elegant and then the Muppets! Loooooove them! That was one of my favorite shows as a child...I would still watch it if I could find it! :) As for your early wake-up time...ugh! I couldn't do it! Most nights/early mornings I'm still trying to get into bed at that hour! No way could I get up then! lol Hope your DH's stress can be relieved somehow, it can cause so many health trials. It's really terrible on the body. Perhaps he needs to do some painting with you? That could be fun...well, it could be a lot of things, huh? :) Thanks for stopping by my place this week and leaving me a comment. The swap and swap-back has been worth it since I got a fresh paint job and a better idea of all the stash I have I had forgotten about! :) Enjoy the rest of WOYWW dear! ~Deeyll

  39. Love the fun drawings, that one of the muppets takes me back a bit!! Hope things go better for your hubby with his new job, stress is a hideous thing. Glad to hear that your mum is receiving better care too. Hope you got your husbands drool off the monitor after my post last week! He's more than welcome to ferry the parts we need from England but I'm not responsible when the US customs start questioning him about what he's bringing in to the country!! Have a great weekend.

  40. Zeffy, you were missed this week - I love your posts, hope you catch up later.

Brenda, He is gutted you broke the car and yes, would quite gladly fetch the parts over and fit them too - be quite a stress reliever that one.

Sorry to hear mum needs more tests, got her on my prayer list.
You take care of you too, so easy to neglect yourself.

  45. Great muppets play, Lynda and very tidy desk! Your journal pages are awesome! I'm so sorry for the long, long stressful days the hubs is having and the bad news concerning your mom. I hope the "paper therapy" helps YOU as you are no doubt more stressed than the two of them together! Big hug to you and Happy Belated WOYWW! Darnell #12

  46. Your journal pages are lovely...what a great release art can be. I kind of struggled finding the word release and I'm still not sure that's exactly what I mean. When I go into the Fun Room, somehow the cares of the rest of the world get left at the door and I become immersed in what ever little bit of color and texture I might be working on at the time. It never fails to improve my mood when I go back out the door. Sounds like there's a lot going on in your life....like always we do the best we can. I so appreciated your kind words on my blog this week. I think your approach to WOYWW seems the most sensible. We do the best we can. Best of luck adapting to the new schedule.

  47. I'm playing catch up after having been offline for nearly three days due to internet woes associated with our recent rain. I adore your purple journal and am so glad I got a chance to see it.

I am sorry to read about your hubby. And it's a shame about your mother. This is an aging society, and one the things we learned in school was how to "deal with" the elderly. After all, we will all get old one of these days, too!

Thanks for visiting me earlier. Happy quite belated WOYWW from #2.

  49. Your pages are so great. I did yelp when I saw the Muppets, as they are my fav and yours are AWESOME! Glad to hear you hubby is doing well. The past 3 months I had a similar experience with hubby as he thought he was having cardiac problems and after a few trips and many tests later...sress. We are also trying to simplify things. We have early rise times also, 4:30 am, and luckily, I am the long commuter (4 hrs total each day). He has a 20 min commute each way thankfully. Hope you guys get used to the change. We are now spending Sundays just relaxing and no running around etc. seemed to help a great deal. Take care. Thanks for the visit today! Winnie#85
